Armenian Genocide

Commemorating the Armenian Genocide

Monday was for commemorating the Armenian Genocide.  Although the Turkish government still denies what happened, there are many Turks that are beginning to admit what happened and discussed it.  This willingness needs to be encouraged.

The Possibility of Peace

Hamas and the Future of Palestinian-Israeli Peace

When Ariel Sharon first created Kadima, there was a lot of talk about how only Sharon, a recognized hawk and former advocate for settlements, could convince Israelis to withdraw from the West Bank.  I didn’t really accept that argument, but I saw the merit of it.  For the [...]

5 Truths About Darfur

Next Sunday, I’m going to Washington D.C. for the rally to stop genocide.  In case you don’t understand the nature of the conflict, this article by Emily Wax is one of the better ones.  I encourage you to take a look.

More information about the rally can found here.

What exactly did Ahmadinejad say?

Kein Krieg! – Drohender Kriegsschauplatz Iran

( Does Iran’s President Want Israel Wiped off the Map?)

A lot of attention has been focused on Ahmadinejad’s comments about Israel and the Holocaust.  It was widely reported that he had called for the destruction of Israel and denied the Holocaust.  There’s no question that he’s a bit crazy, [...]

Why America’s means undermine its ends

Democracy Can Never Emerge at the Point of a Spear

$70 Oil and Iranian Nukes: It’s all China’s Fault

China’s Big Need for Oil Is High on U.S. Agenda

David Sanger looks at the effects of China’s oil consumption on foreign affairs and America’s foreign policy.  Although he tries to approach the issue from a somewhat neutral perspective, his article is just another Sinophobic diatribe.  He discusses all the awful states that China does [...]

The Joy of Nuclear Bombs

Talking Points for a Nuclear Strike

Nicholas von Hoffman has a funny post about the "logic" of using nuclear bombs against Iran.  He even has an argument about the beauty of the triangle of wars that would then emerge in the Middle East.  I just wish that the use of nuclear weapons didn’t actually seem [...]

Modernization or Wahhabi Nightmare?

Shame of the House of Saud: Shadows over Mecca

When I was in Saudi Arabia, I saw lots of fancy new buildings.  After ten days, you almost thought that there only were skyscrapers or brand new hospitals in Saudi Arabia.  It was only in the old city in Jeddah (Jiddah) that I was reminded of the [...]

There’s no such thing as global warming

Enemy of the Planet – Paul Krugman

Despite overwhelming consensus in the scientific community, that is what ExxonMobil would like us to think.  It always make my day when companies try to hijack science to make a buck.  Apparently it’s not enough to make billions of dollar every year, ExxonMobil also wants us to think [...]
